Brown Equals Terrorist: The Race Card

In this post 9/11 world, if you saw someone taking pictures of an important structure from multiple angles, and constantly making notes about it, wouldnt you be a little bit concerned? I would be.

Ian Spiers has put together a long rant about how he refused to show ID while photographing important structures, and is subsequently pissed that Homeland Security agents were called on him. He proceeds to blame the whole thing on racial profiling and the PATRIOT act.

He has sent his story to Michael Moore, so you can look forward to another non-factual political propaganda (not documentary) film in a few months. Get thee to France or Germany, Mr. Spiers. And take Michael Moore with you.

New Spyware Spams AIM w/ Fake Osama Story

If you use AIM, you might have started getting some messages along the lines of “check this out … http://www.wgutv.com/osama_capture.php” from someone who has you on their buddy list. The link will take you to what looks like an official news page with a story about Osama being captured, that asks you to download a player for it.

The player is actually spyware which will pull your AIM buddy list and start spamming everyone on it with that same link. If you read the disclaimer text (the 1pt font in light gray on a white background) it does say its a false story, and the spyware is part of a game.

The parent company is BuddyLinks. This is possibly the most disgusting piece of spyware/spam Ive ever come across, and is an insult to all those who lost loved ones on 9/11.

Design for 9/11 Memorial Chosen

“A design consisting of two reflecting pools and a large grove of trees was chosen for the World Trade Center memorial after an eight-month competition that drew more than 5,000 entries from around the world, officials announced Tuesday.”

The design was considered the long shot of the 3 finalist designs, and will include the names of people from the WTC, Pennsylvania, and Pentagon crashes, along with the deaths from the 1993 WTC bombing.
